Kadenza is operated by JarX Concepts ("we," "us," "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Kadenza mobile application ("the App").

2.2 Health & Fitness Data

With your explicit permission, Kadenza reads the following from Apple Health (HealthKit):

This data is used exclusively to provide AI coaching within the app. It is synced to our server so your AI coach can analyze your workouts and give you personalized advice. We do not use HealthKit data for advertising or marketing purposes, and we do not sell it to data brokers or any third party.

2.3 Chat Messages

Messages you send to your AI coach are transmitted to our server and forwarded to our AI providers to generate responses. We store your conversation history so you can refer back to previous coaching sessions.

2.4 Fitness Goals, Coach Descriptions & Preferences

Any fitness goals, coach descriptions, coach preference prompts, or profile information you provide is stored to personalize your coaching experience. If you create a coach, we may use your description to generate a coach name and portrait for use inside the app.

2.5 Location Data

If your workouts include GPS route data (recorded by Apple Watch or iPhone), we use a reverse geocoding service (OpenStreetMap/Nominatim) to resolve starting coordinates to a general location name (e.g., "Central Park, New York"). We do not continuously track your location, and we do not store raw GPS coordinates beyond initial processing.

2.6 Shared Coach Content & Reports

If you choose to share a coach, we store and may display to other users the coach's generated name, generated portrait, description, public share code, creator display name (if available), and basic community metrics such as how many users adopted that coach.

If you submit a report about a shared coach, we store the report details, your account ID, and the coach share you reported so we can investigate and enforce our Terms.

3. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used for one purpose: to provide you with personalized AI coaching. Specifically:

4. Third-Party AI Providers

Before we share personal data with any AI provider, the app presents an in-app consent prompt that explains what data is sent and who receives it. We only proceed after you explicitly agree.

To power your AI coach, we send your data to the following providers:

Anthropic (Claude)

Our primary AI provider. Your messages and relevant workout context are sent to Anthropic's API to generate coaching responses. Anthropic's privacy practices are described in their Privacy Policy and API Data Usage Policy.

OpenAI

Used as a fallback AI provider and for generating coach avatar images (via DALL-E). OpenAI's privacy practices are described in their Privacy Policy and API Data Usage Policies.

Important: Both Anthropic and OpenAI's API terms state that data submitted via their APIs is not used to train their models. Your conversations and workout data sent through our app are processed to generate responses and are not retained by these providers for model training.

Data shared with these providers may include chat messages, workout/activity context, body metrics, fitness goals, and coach creation prompts when needed to deliver coaching features.

We only work with providers that publish API data-handling commitments intended to provide protections that are the same as or stronger than our own privacy commitments for this app.

While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no system is 100% secure. We encourage you to use strong device security (passcode, Face ID/Touch ID) on your iPhone.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your data only as long as you have an active account.

You can delete your account at any time by going to Profile > Delete Account in the app. When you delete your account:

If another user previously adopted a copy of a coach you shared, that other user's separate coach copy may remain in their account after your account is deleted, but it is no longer linked to your public share.

You can also request data deletion by emailing [email protected]. We will process deletion requests promptly, typically within 48 hours.

Kadenza is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child under 13, please contact us immediately at [email protected] and we will delete it.
