1. Who We Are

Kadenza is operated by JarX Concepts ("we," "us," "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Kadenza mobile application ("the App").

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you sign in with Apple, we receive:

• Your Apple user identifier (a unique, anonymous ID)
• Your name (if you choose to share it)
• Your email address (if you choose to share it, or Apple's private relay email)

We use this solely for authentication and to personalize your coaching experience (e.g., addressing you by name).

2.2 Health & Fitness Data

With your explicit permission, Kadenza reads the following from Apple Health (HealthKit):

• Workout records (type, duration, distance, route)
• Heart rate data
• Active energy burned (calories)
• Pace and speed
• Body metrics (height, weight, date of birth)

This data is used exclusively to provide AI coaching within the app. It is synced to our server so your AI coach can analyze your workouts and give you personalized advice. We do not use HealthKit data for advertising or marketing purposes, and we do not sell it to data brokers or any third party.

2.3 Chat Messages

Messages you send to your AI coach are transmitted to our server and forwarded to our AI providers to generate responses. We store your conversation history so you can refer back to previous coaching sessions.

2.4 Fitness Goals & Preferences

Any fitness goals, coach customization preferences, or profile information you provide is stored to personalize your coaching experience.

2.5 Location Data

If your workouts include GPS route data (recorded by Apple Watch or iPhone), we use a reverse geocoding service (OpenStreetMap/Nominatim) to resolve starting coordinates to a general location name (e.g., "Central Park, New York"). We do not continuously track your location, and we do not store raw GPS coordinates beyond initial processing.

3. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used for one purpose: to provide you with personalized AI coaching. Specifically:

• AI Coaching: Your workout data, body metrics, fitness goals, and messages are sent to our AI providers to generate coaching responses tailored to you.
• Workout Analysis: Your activity history is stored so your coach can reference past workouts, identify trends, and track your progress.
• Account Management: Your Apple ID credentials are used to authenticate you and maintain your account.

That's it. We do not use your data for targeted advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond the coaching experience you signed up for.

4. Third-Party AI Providers

To power your AI coach, we send your data to the following providers:

Anthropic (Claude)

Our primary AI provider. Your messages and relevant workout context are sent to Anthropic's API to generate coaching responses. Anthropic's privacy practices are described in their Privacy Policy and API Data Usage Policy.

OpenAI

Used as a fallback AI provider and for generating coach avatar images (via DALL-E). OpenAI's privacy practices are described in their Privacy Policy and API Data Usage Policies.

Important: Both Anthropic and OpenAI's API terms state that data submitted via their APIs is not used to train their models. Your conversations and workout data sent through our app are processed to generate responses and are not retained by these providers for model training.

5. What We Do NOT Do

To be absolutely clear:

• We do not sell your personal data to anyone.
• We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
• We do not use your data for targeted advertising.
• We do not use analytics or tracking SDKs.
• We do not use HealthKit data for any purpose other than providing coaching in the app.
• We do not mine or analyze your data for purposes beyond the app's core functionality.
• We do not transfer your data to third parties other than our AI providers as described above.

6. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure servers. We use industry-standard security measures including:

• Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data transmission
• JWT-based authentication for API access
• Secure credential storage

While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no system is 100% secure. We encourage you to use strong device security (passcode, Face ID/Touch ID) on your iPhone.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your data only as long as you have an active account.

You can delete your account at any time by going to Profile > Delete Account in the app. When you delete your account:

• All your personal data is permanently deleted from our servers
• All workout data, conversation history, coach preferences, and profile information are removed
• This action is immediate and irreversible

You can also request data deletion by emailing [email protected]. We will process deletion requests promptly, typically within 48 hours.

8. Children's Privacy

Kadenza is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child under 13, please contact us immediately at [email protected] and we will delete it.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data — contact us and we'll provide a copy of the data we hold about you
• Delete your data — use the in-app delete account feature or email us
• Revoke HealthKit access — go to iPhone Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices > Kadenza to control which data the app can read
• Opt out — you can use the app without granting HealthKit access (though coaching will be limited without workout data)

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or via email. The "Effective Date" at the top of this page indicates the latest revision.
